Hi there!

In my first blog post, I thought I’d take the opportunity to tell you a little about myself and my work.

When I’m not illustrating, I love to go on adventures exploring new places with my husband and two children. This summer, we were lucky enough to visit Copenhagen, which was amazing.

Whilst working, I have two furry studio assistants (when they’re not pinching pieces of paper out of the bin, or pencils off my desk).

Much of my work is inspired by the natural world and I love to create pieces that communicate a sense of calm and relaxation. As a mixed-media illustrator, I enjoy combining and layering colours and textures to create a semi-realistic effect to my work.

To round off, here are five fun facts about me…

1. I was a primary school teacher for 13 years, prior to becoming an illustrator.

2. I drink copious amounts of Earl Grey tea.

3. I truly believe that a person cannot have enough notebooks or stationery.

4. Sage green is my favourite colour.

5. As well as illustrating, I love crochet, cosy cafes and homemade cake.
